admin ·

The days go by and you need to plan what you will do for the 28th October holiday! It would be a shame to waste the day and not escape to a nearby destination. That’s why we present you with three places near Athens, so you can take a lightning-quick trip and relax… even if just for a little while. Who told you, anyway, that good things last long? Find the unique hotel offers for 28th October, read our suggestions and off you go

Trikala Korinthias

Much talked-about and less than two hours away from Athens, Trikala Korinthias has much to offer you to make you want to go back the next weekend.

Picturesque places, lush landscapes, breathtaking trails for experienced and inexperienced hikers alike and delicious Greek cuisine are just some of the reasons why you will love the area. Stone mansions, picturesque cobblestone streets, flagstone squares, age-old plane trees and running water make up a village for hours of exploration. Take a seat by a fireplace in a taverna with exquisite home-cooked food and local cuisine or prefer a café with a unique view

Mavrolichari Phocis

The Mountainous Phocis, although very close to Athens, has mysteriously managed to remain hidden from the spotlight, even though it hides many treasures. One of them is the little village of Mavrolichari. Built at an altitude of 1,140 metres on the slope of Oiti, it impresses you with the view and the peace it offers you. A 300-year-old plane tree covers its stone-built square, two-storey stone cottages with red tile roofs surround it, and all this together is framed by a deep green border of firs. Don’t miss sitting in a traditional taverna with home-cooked cuisine and local mezes accompanied by tsipouro.

Vytina

The first of the cute villages of Mainalo on the road coming from Athens is called Vytina and is one of the beloved destinations.

You will love its flagstone square bathed in sunlight until late afternoon, the Church of Saint Tryphon, built with the famous local black marble, the stone buildings, the stone-built cobblestone streets and its enchanting view, which its residents proudly boast is by far the best of the other villages that adorn the mountain. You will not leave in any case without buying local honey and fresh, steaming bread from the traditional wood-fired oven, and without tasting home-cooked cuisine.
